About the Client

Our client is a renowned legal firm in the USA, specializing in patent filing. They represent clients worldwide, offering expertise in managing and representing intellectual property (IP) cases, making them a key player in the legal industry.

Problem

The client faced inefficiencies in their client onboarding and application process. With a global client base, it was essential to streamline this process, especially for non-native English speakers. The existing system lacked clarity, resulting in missing documents, miscommunication, and delays in pre-assessing cases and gathering required IP documentation.

Solution

We implemented a 3-step form with patent number lookup, allowing clients to preview and attach the exact documents needed for the case. Different documentation processes were addressed with a simple multiple-file upload feature, improving communication between clients and attorneys and reducing missing information.

Technical Integration

The solution involved a complex integration with a legacy system using SOAP, which required extensive effort over two months. Despite the challenges, our team successfully integrated the patent search lookup feature.

Results

Post-implementation, the onboarding process became seamless. Both attorneys and international clients could easily follow the new system. Missing or incorrect information was no longer an issue, streamlining 90% of the process and significantly improving efficiency.
